About Us

The Southern California Social Work Women’s Council is committed to advancing social work values of care, compassion, restoration, and social justice in the pursuit of community well-being. For more than a decade, the Council has explored the tensions between legal systems and the ethical responsibilities of social workers, asking the critical question: “Is legal always ethical?” Through dialogue, education, and community engagement, the Council works to challenge long-standing assumptions and support new approaches to public safety, healing, and collective liberation.

We believe all women can embrace who they are, can define their future, and can change the world.
